Nomar Garciaparra Retiring, Joining ESPN As Analyst: Nomar Graciaparra announced that he’s leaving baseball to become an ESPN analyst.
He joined the Red Sox for a day and then retired , ending the 14-year career.
Garciaparra said “ From the first day I had the thrill of putting on a Red Sox uniform and playing in the front of all the great fans at Fenway Park, I have felt at home in Boston”.
He was a six time All Star who captured the 1997 American League Rookie of the Year Award.
The shortstop signed a contract with his former team before announcing his retirement from baseball.
