Smoking bans in all state parks in California

California lawmakers will consider the ban of smoking in state parks, Thursday. This is to get unsightly cigarette butts off the beach, eliminate second-hand smoke, and reduce the threat of wildfires. Campsites and parking areas will be exempted from the ban, under a legislative compromise.

Death of the world’s shortest man shocked family members

He Pingping, the world’s shortest man died in Italy, Tuesday. Pingping suffered chest problems in Rome while taking a part in a television show. He was taken to the hospital but died over the weekend. Family members say he had not shown previous signs of bad health.

4.4 magnitude earthquake hits Southern California: A magnitude of 4.4 earthquake rattled Southern California early Tuesday morning. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, its epicenter is 11 miles east-southest of the Los Angeles Civic Center. The earthquake struck 4:04 AM.
