Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress Award for her role in, The Blind Side, starring Tim McGraw and Quinton Aron.

She played a brilliant portrayal of the character of Leigh Anne Tuohy, a wealthy mum –of-two who picks up a homeless black teenager and raises him.

She made through the Oscar by beating Meryl Streep, who was nominated for her role in “Julie and Julia”, Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligen and Gabourey Sidibe.

The competition was stiff. She thanked her mother and dedicated the award to all the mothers in the world.

After receiving her award she said that she’ll display her Oscar statuette along with her worst actress Razzie award, which she won the day earlier for her role in All about Steve.

Sandra Bullock told the BBC “They are going to sit side by side, as they should. We are in the entertainment business. That’s what we’re supposed to do- you take the good with the not so good.
